Mientras se afinan detalles, la ceremonia de toma de mando de José Antonio Kast comenzará en breves momentos.
Abogada de 43 años y representante de la región de Antofagasta, ubicada en el extremo norte del país, Núñez ha forjado una sólida carrera política en el Congreso chileno ejerciendo como diputada durante dos periodos (2013-2017 / 2018-2022) para luego ganar la senatorial por su distrito.

La senadora Paulina Núñez, militante del conservador partido Renovación Nacional (RN) y cercana al expresidente Sebastián Piñera, fue elegida este miércoles como nueva presidenta del Senado, y será quien imponga este miércoles la banda presidencial al nuevo mandatario, José Antonio Kast.

José Antonio Kast es el noveno presidente de la democracia en Chile, y es el primero también en defender el régimen de Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990).
Se tiene previsto que esta misma tarde y ya de regreso a Santiago, Kast brindará un discurso en el Palacio de La Moneda, la sede del Gobierno chileno.
Según informa la agencia EFE, SE había especulado además con la participación del secretario de Estado estadounidense, Marco Rubio, pero al final viajará el subsecretario Christopher Landau.
También confirmaron el boliviano Rodrigo Paz, el paraguayo Santiago Peña, el panameño José Raúl Mulino, el uruguayo Yamandú Orsi, el dominicano Luis Abinader, el costarricense Rodrigo Chaves y el hondureño Nasry Asfura.
Entre las autoridades asistentes se encuentran el rey Felipe VI de España, el argentino Javier Milei, el brasileño Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva y el ecuatoriano Daniel Noboa, entre otros.
Kast, de 60 años, sucederá al progresista Gabriel Boric en una ceremonia en la que estarán presentes distintos jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de América y Europa.
